Edward Kennedy’s Passing — A Window of Opportunity
Thank you GianRico.
Unfortunately the GOPs and Dems will quickly go back to acting like bickering divorcing parents arguing over “having to be right” in “what’s in the best interest of their child’s/country’s” clothing.
I think they have had a taste of what Senator Kennedy stood for in his commitment to help the truly helpless (vs. those that merely complain they are), but it will not last.
Perhaps legislators need to do more than walk in the shoes of their constituents for a couple days of a memorial service. Perhaps they need to “live” for a month in the lives of their constituents who have neither adequate health care nor a secure job. Maybe that would happen if similar to subjecting drug addicts to random drug tests, we subjected legislators who are addicted to arguing without any reform to a “random month without health care coverage” or a “random month of leave from work without pay.”
